Husqvarna Automower® 405VE NERA – a wire free robotic mower packed with innovative features, designed for perfect results on lawns up to 900 m². The EdgeCut function keeps lawn edges neat and minimises the time and effort you need to spend on trimming. With virtual boundaries enabled by our included satellite-based technology, installation becomes flexible and robust.Requirements:
- Cellular or Wi-Fi internet coverage across the full lawn area is needed. If you do not have internet coverage, then you can purchase the Husqvarna EPOS® RS1 reference station.
- The Automower® Connect app. Available for free on the AppStore and Google Play.
Everything starts in the Automower® Connect app, where you create individual and customisable work areas, along with temporary stay-out zones. These can be easily adjusted later to suit garden projects or changes to your lawn’s layout throughout the season.
The in-built camera utilises advanced AI to detect and identify objects on the lawn and acts accordingly based on the type of object it is. Thanks to infrared light, the lawn mower avoids obstacles, considers wildlife, and ensures full lawn coverage—even at night. Since AI vision technology combines with satellite navigation, full lawn coverage is also ensured in areas with weak satellite signals.
The selectable mowing patterns feature enables you to choose from a striped, checkerboard or triangle pattern on your lawn, and gives an area capacity of 900 m². Or, for a carpet-like finish, choose the irregular pattern mode, which offers a 600 m² area capacity.
How does the satellite technology work?
To achieve centimetre-level accuracy, the mower has to receive correction data, which is provided via Husqvarna Cloud at no extra cost. This requires cellular or Wi-Fi coverage over the entire lawn area and offers an excellent position accuracy, typically better than 5 cm. If you do not have cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, then you can purchase the Husqvarna EPOS® RS1 reference station as an additional accessory. It is a stand-alone solution that requires no internet connection and provides even higher mower position accuracy (around 2-3 cm).

Minimised trimming with EdgeCut
The need to trim the edges of your lawn is minimised, saving time and effort. This is made possible by a dedicated rear EdgeCut disc that can cut so close to the edges that only a minimum of grass is left uncut.
Adjustable virtual boundaries
Customisable lawn maintenance thanks to wire free installation with virtual boundaries. The virtual boundaries are easy to install and adjust in the Husqvarna Automower® Connect app, and you can create stay-out zones and multiple work areas with different settings.
Advanced AI object detection & avoidance
The in-built camera detects objects on the lawn and, using advanced AI, identifies them, then acts according to the type of object it is. Whether it is people, animals or toys left on the lawn, the mower will expertly avoid these items. That way, the risk of both unexpected stops and damage to objects in the garden, and the mower, is eliminated.
Uninterrupted mowing with AI vision technology
Satellite navigation and AI vision technology combine to ensure full lawn coverage even in areas with weak satellite signals. This allows the mower to work smoothly across any garden layout, as long as it sees grass, ensuring no patch is left uncut.
Wildlife consideration with AI vision technology
The advanced AI vision technology works even in the dark, detecting and avoiding nocturnal animals during nighttime mowing. It uses infrared light, which is invisible to the eye but delivers consistent performance day and night without disturbing animals or neighbours.
Selectable mowing patterns
Choose stripes, checkerboard or a triangle pattern on your lawn with systematic mowing. This feature enables the mower to run in parallel lines to create a visual pattern. Or for a carpet-like finish, there is also the option of irregular mowing.
Automower® Zone Control
Automower® Zone Control allows you to easily create work areas with different settings and temporary stay-out zones. It gives you more control over the lawn so you can apply different mowing patterns, schedules and cutting heights to each area or prevent the robotic lawn mower from mowing in selected areas.
Automower® Connect app
Enjoy the convenience of remote control from your smartphone with the Husqvarna Automower® Connect app. Among other things, you can manage and monitor your Husqvarna robotic lawn mower, change settings, and get easy access to information and tips that make lawn maintenance carefree. Cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity available, dependent on model.
Electric height adjustment - PATENTED
Electric cutting height adjustment makes it convenient to set the desired height via the Husqvarna Automower® Connect app. The setting is also accessible from the mower’s main menu.
Automatic passage handling - PATENTED
Husqvarna Automower® automatically senses narrow passages and finds its way even through the smallest passages. It will vary its route through the passage to avoid unpleasant tracks.
GPS-assisted navigation - PATENTED
An onboard GPS system creates a map of the garden, including where the boundary and guide wires are installed. Husqvarna Automower® will then register which parts of the garden it has covered and adjusts its mowing pattern accordingly. This will ensure optimised lawn coverage and an excellent cutting result.
Secondary Area
If your lawn has two areas that are not connected with a passage for your mower, for example the front and back lawn, then you are able to create a secondary area in your installation. Once installed, you need to manually move the mower between these two areas, and the mower will mow for a selected time or until the battery is empty.
Weather timer
Adjusts the working time to the lawn’s growth rate, meaning that Husqvarna Automower® will maximise its mowing time during periods of strong grass growth. In sunny or dry weather, or late in the season, the mower will spend less time mowing, which decreases wear on lawn and mower.
Automower® Access
The new Automower Access user interaction with high-resolution colour display, jog wheel and status indicators, provides an intuitive yet sophisticated way of controlling your mower. The icon-based design language integrates intuitively with the Automower® Connect smartphone app, providing a seamless user experience.
Spiral cutting
Automatic cutting functionality to even out grass height differences. Cutting disc sensors detect whether the mower enters an area with higher grass and switches cutting technology to systematic spiral pattern.
Easy cleaning
Easily wash the exterior and underneath of the robotic mower with a garden hose. Removable top cover and body for easy cleaning and reachability everywhere.
Target height for improved lawn quality
For improved lawn quality, TargetHeight lowers the cutting height automatically from MAX to defined height over a 10 days period.
GeoFence
If the mower is moved outside the predefined area, you will be notified in the app and the mower alarm will sound, minimising the risk of theft. Simply use the Automower® Connect app to define your mower's GeoFence area.
Low Carbon Emissions
By choosing this product, you can feel confident that it produces lower carbon emissions during active use compared to a traditional petrol product. This battery-driven product does not emit any CO₂ during use while still providing the power and quality that you expect from a Husqvarna product. However, it’s important to note that CO₂ emissions are generated during other stages of the product´s lifecycle, such as production, charging and end-of-life disposal.

Easily make software updates yourself, via the Automower® Connect app, to enable new features and updates.
GPS theft tracking
Equipped with GPS tracking to keep track of the mower's current position and minimise the risk of theft. Notifications will be sent to your device via the Automower Connect® app, letting you know where your mower is at all times.
Smart Home integration
Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for convenient voice control and status updates. This applies to all Husqvarna Automower® models with cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity, letting you execute voice commands such as start, stop and park, and get status updates from your mower by simply asking your voice assistant. With Automower® Connect you can also integrate your robotic mower with your Gardena Smart System and let mowing and watering work together.
Profiles
Create several profiles with tailored schedules and settings for different locations or seasons. This makes it easier to share the mower between numerous locations and to adjust the mowing based on weather and grass growth.
Automower® Smart Routines
Use Automower® Smart Routines in the Automower® Connect app to enhance your lawn care experience. Whether you want to park the mower automatically when the weather forecast shows heavy rain or frost, or be mindful of nocturnal animals by adjusting the mowing schedule to only mow during the day, with Smart Routines, you can seamlessly manage routines via the app.
